Guidelines for Complaints

Please read the following carefully if you have a complaint about a website hosted using Rocketship. Some general points:

• Before contacting us, please consider contacting the website owner directly if you take issue with their website. This will often work to resolve an issue immediately without involving us (or worse, lawyers). Some websites list their contact info, or you can always just leave a comment on any website post and it will get sent to the website owner.
• We take complaints seriously, but please be aware that unless a website clearly violates our Terms of Service we may or may not disable it.
• Below are the official ways to contact us for various issues. Emails, voice mails, etc that are sent elsewhere will not get the desired response.

Copyright Violations

If one of the websites hosted using Rocketship features content that is owned by you (and you did not authorize your content to be published by the website in question), please use our DMCA reporting process. We respond to all properly formatted DMCA complaints.

Defamation, Abuse, or Threats

If you find defamatory, abusive or threatening content on a Rocketship website, you can report it to legal (at) getrocketship.com. However, please first take a look at this Electronic Frontier Foundation page on defamation law. Note that negative personal opinions are not considered defamation. In other words, someone calling you names or insulting you on their website is not grounds for shutting them down. Instead of asking us to suspend such a website, please consider either responding in the website’s comments or on your own website/site to set the record straight, or simply ignoring the issue (websites who use insults and bad language tend to have low credibility and low traffic in the first place). When reporting defamatory or abusive websites, please provide specific links and/or quotations of the offending material. If the website is written in a language other than English, make sure you provide a translation.

Spam Websites

Please use the form on this page to report spam websites. We will immediately suspend any spam websites.

Obscene Websites

Please use the form on this page to report websites with obscene content (pornography, etc). Obscene or mature websites are not permitted by Rocketship and are in direct violation of our Terms of Service. We will immediately suspend any obscene websites.
